CAREER
HISTORY
Although
I spent most of my working life outwith the boundaries of
the professional Theatre, I was very active in Amateur Drama.
I also studied in Glasgow under the direction of the late
Muriel Robertson, Drama Coach and sat the examinations of
the London Academy of Music and Drama and awarded a Gold
Medal (in Acting) in 1959.
I
also performed under the guidance of many professional Directors,
including Bill Murray, former Head of Royal Scottish Academy
of Music and Drama in Glasgow. One of the highlights of
my career was appearing at the Minack Open Air Theatre at
Porthcurno in Cornwall in 1973, playing Captain Paul Waggett
in “Whisky Galore.” Other popular plays I appeared
in, to name but a few, include “Time and the Conways,”
“Nude with Violin,” “The Wisdom of Eve,”
“Pride and Prejudice,” “An Inspector Calls”
and “Deathtrap,” which
I
have appeared in three times.
I have also appeared in three Musicals including “42nd
Street”, “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”
and “City of Angels.”
Pantomime
Characters include the title role in “Mother Goose,”
an Ugly Sister in “Cinderella” and the Child
Catcher in “Babes in the Wood.”
